Last weekend, the General Trias Elite Bachelors (GTEB) showed that brotherhood and bonding can go beyond the usual drinking sessions and night-outs. Sometimes, all it takes is a volleyball, a court, and a group of people eager to connect, sweat, and have fun — and that’s exactly what happened during our Game On: GTEB Volleyball Game Day.
Held as part of our wellness and camaraderie initiatives, this event aimed to create a space where members could gather, stay active, and build stronger connections in a different setting — promoting not just physical fitness but also emotional wellness and brotherhood. It was a refreshing break from routine and proved that our group is capable of enjoying meaningful moments even without alcohol or the usual social gatherings.
From the first serve to the final spike, the day was filled with energy, laughter, and sportsmanship. Players gave their all, while those on the sidelines cheered their hearts out, creating an atmosphere of genuine support and fun. It didn’t matter whether you were a seasoned player or just there to try — everyone felt included, and that’s what made the event truly special.
But none of this would have been possible without the efforts and support of the people who believed in this initiative. A heartfelt thank you to our outgoing GTEB Events Head, Don, now serving as Legal and Membership Head, for showing unwavering support to this new venture. His presence reminded everyone that leadership goes beyond titles — it’s about being present and backing activities that strengthen the group.
We also warmly welcome our incoming Events Head, Bert, who was there, lending his full support to the event. His energy and involvement are a sign of more exciting activities to come, and we’re looking forward to what his leadership will bring to the team.
Special recognition also goes to Nomer, who not only helped make this volleyball game happen but also embraced the role of team captain, leading by example and making sure everyone was engaged and having fun. His efforts behind the scenes and on the court truly made a difference in binding the group together that day.
And of course, our GTEB President, Rocky, deserves our deepest thanks for pushing and initiating this wellness activity. His support for the GTEB Volley Squad ensured that this event became more than just a one-time game — it became a symbol of what our brotherhood stands for: fun, fitness, and friendship.
The GTEB Volleyball Game Day may have been different from our usual gatherings, but it’s one that left a lasting impact. It reminded us that wellness is not just about health but also about finding joy in activities that strengthen our bond and bring us together in positive, uplifting ways.
And this is just the beginning. With the success of this first game, we are excited to announce that Season 2 of GTEB Volleyball Game Day is already in the works. We look forward to meeting more volleyball enthusiasts and welcoming new faces ready to join our growing GTEB Spikers family. Whether you’re a seasoned player or just someone curious to try, there will always be a spot for you — because here, everyone plays, everyone belongs.
Together, let’s continue choosing activities that fuel not just our bodies but our friendships — creating memories that last, on and off the court. See you on the court next time!
